Dr Clarence N.W. Tan is a futurist and was the Asia Pacific Ambassador for Singularity University (SU), a benefit corporation based on NASA’s research campus in Silicon Valley. He is the co-founder of an impact revenue sharing platform, Exponential Positive Impact Capital (EPIC) and Gogotech, a connected mobility solution provider and the maker of Abby, an affordable portable smart motorized wheelchair, and the Principal of Dr CT Pty Ltd, that is an ExO.Works partner. Dr Tan is a Board Advisor/Global Ambassador for OpenExO. He was also the founder of Bond Wireless, an Australian-based award-winning wireless software applications and services company. Prior to that he was an academic and an investment banker. He has been involved in a number of start-ups as a founder, mentor and investor. He is passionate about exponential technologies particularly in the areas of education, health, seeking and sharing knowledge through humor.
He received the Queensland government’s Entrepreneur-in-Residence Fellowship for 2010 and has been inducted into the Queensland Science and Innovation Champion Hall of Fame in 2014 as a Queensland Innovation Champion. He runs a private equity fund and is an Adjunct Professor at Griffith University on the Gold Coast of Australia. He is also on the IT Board of Advisory for Southern Cross University. He was an Associate Dean and Adjunct Professor of Bond Univeristy School of Information Technology. Dr. Tan obtained his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (Computers), a Master of Business Administration (Finance), and a Master of Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering all from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, USA. He also holds a PhD in Artificial Intelligence Applications in Finance.
Dr. Tan is a Fellow of the Australian Computer Society (FACS) and a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia (F Fin). He has a number of academic publications including a book, book chapters and peer-reviewed papers in the area of soft computing and mobile applications. In addition Dr Tan holds a number of patents in mobility technology globally. He has been an invited keynote speaker in a number of events including the World Bank in Washington DC, Deloitte Global Tax Conference in Bangkok, the Asian Business Angels Forum, Health Informatics Conference in Australia, TEDxYouth TCIS in Shanghai, China, TEDxYouth AB Paterson in Australia, TEDxYouth KL in Malaysia to over 800 delegates, the Awesomemest Fest in Bali, the Global Investment Panel for Singularity University at NASA Ames Research Park, the London Business School Alumni event in Singapore and the World Computer Congress in Brisbane. He has run workshops for the South Korean government on exponential technologies and organizations.

Dr Vishal Rana
Dr Vishal Rana is a Senior Associate of Dr Clarence Tan. He is currently a Lecturer in Management at Australian Institute of Business, Adelaide, Australia. He completed his PhD in Human Resource Management and Organisational Behaviour from Griffith University, Gold Coast, Australia. Dr Rana has won several awards in teaching from Dean of Business School and a commendation of teaching from Deputy Vice Chancellor. Dr Rana has almost a decade of teaching experience in Higher Education Institutions and has taught Internationally in Thailand, China and Hong Kong to both undergraduate and postgraduates including MBA. Prior to becoming an academic, he had almost a decade experience in managing multi-million-dollar restaurants in International Hospitality chains like Starwood and Accor in Australia. He is also the CEO and Co-Founder of two start-ups in technology sector, one in mental health tech (Watch Your Talk) and the other in education tech. He is also a certified OpenExO consultant. He is very passionate in education for women and had ran a crowd sourcing campaign to enable women in rural India to access education.
